GTA The Trilogy PC Download is a 2021 compilation of three action and adventure games from Grand Theft Auto: Grand Theft Auto III (2001), Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and GTA San Andreas. It was developed by Grove Street Games and published by Rockstar Games. All three games have been remastered, with visual improvements and gameplay improvements.
The games have different protagonists and locations within the same continuity. In Grand Theft Auto III, the player controls Claude, a mute protagonist in Liberty City; in Vice City, a 1986 film starring Tommy Vercetti as Vice City; and in San Andreas, a 1992 film set in the fictitious state of San Andreas, the player controls gangster Carl “CJ” Johnson.
The two-year production period was devoted to preserving the aesthetic of the original Grand Theft Auto; the physics code was lifted directly from the source, and artificial intelligence was employed to enhance the textures automatically. The development team looked at what made the original games unique. They added various coloring, weathering, lighting effects, and new elements from Grand Theft Auto V (2013).
