XCOM 2 was released in 2016 and is a turn-based tactical video game. It was developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. XCOM is a military force that was tasked with fighting an alien invasion. They have lost and are now a resistance group opposing Earth’s totalitarian regime and military dictatorships. The game has two main sections: turn-based battles, where players command a squad to fight their opponents, and strategic management, which involves managing and overseeing the operations of an alien spaceship that acts as a base.

Firaxis added generative map generation and mod compatibility in Enemy Unknown based on player feedback. Game Story

In XCOM 2, the player is the leader of a military group called XCOM. This group has been reduced to a small resistance force that fights the alien invasion of Earth. The game uses a turn-based system and is played in a top-down perspective. The players command human troops that are sent to eliminate aliens on a map. Secondary goals may also be achieved depending on the mission.

The timers are set for many of the tasks, which means that players will have to complete them multiple times. The maps are generated procedurally and have a wide range of levels. The map of each game is unique in terms of geography and structure. There are four levels of difficulty: rookie, veteran commander and legend. Players can start a game using the “Ironman option” after completing the main story. This mode overwrites the save file every time a player acts. It is, therefore, difficult to import previous saves after making a mistake.

The Steam Workshop allows players to create missions, cosmetics and enemy types. This includes a multiplayer one-on-one mode where players are given points to build a team of ADVENT or XCOM soldiers and attempt to destroy the opponent’s squad on the battlefield.

Each mission is a unique challenge: You can take on missions all over the world, from the wilderness to the alien megacities and the depths of alien installations. There are literally endless combinations of missions, maps and objectives.
