Shelter 2 includes more detailed gameplay features than its predecessor, such as resistance, different types of moves and jumps, and various prey to kill. Mothers and hunters also benefit significantly from hunting. Some of these benefits include the ability to call babies near, tattoo prey, ensure that they drink river water, and raise and move puppies in a risky manner.
The environments are much larger than the previous ones and allow far more freedom than ever, allowing players to find their favourite places to return. The weather and seasons change this time, and a bitter winter and a blooming summer await! Retro Family, awarded for her work on the Pid audio track, reintroduced the music, and the images were reinvented by adding a dense atmosphere and lighting to the artistic drawing style.
In Shelter 2, the player controls the mother lynx and takes care of her young while maintaining their feeding and security from danger. The sequel aims to provide more mobility options than in the first game, a more open landscape that changes with the seasons, and a more comprehensive range of prey.
