Dead Space is set aboard a mining spaceship that Necromorphs have taken over after finding the Marker, an artifact. Isaac Clarke is the engineer who battles Necromorphs, maneuvers his spacecraft, and fights against his spiraling madness. The player controls him.
There are some differences between Dead Space, the original game and this one. Isaac has speech lines, unlike the first game where he was a silent protagonist. Isaac was also included in the pre-existing dialogue and voice lines that were created for the game. This allowed him to debate with other characters and interact.
This game has more gore and a new “peeling technique” that lets you tear apart the corpses of the Necromorphs. Some weapons are more effective at chopping off entire bodies, while others work better for cutting off limbs. The remake enhances “zero gravity” by giving Isaac rockets that allow him to move freely in certain areas of Ishimura.
